Environments

SPACES DESIGNED FOR LEARNING AND DISCOVERY

Taking a holistic approach to teaching, our play-based program encourages children to learn through risk-taking, hypothesizing, problem solving and teamwork.

Encouraged by our team of qualified educators, Exmouth ELC will strive to create a safe environment which offers comfort and care for children to learn and grow.

We aim to promote the development of the whole child through focusing on practical skills, collaborative play, independence, uniqueness, cultural awareness, compassion, and health.

Exmouth ELC aims to deliver high quality early childhood programs for children aged birth to six years that is in line with approved learning frameworks, National Quality Framework, Laws and Regulations for Early Childhood.

INFANTS

The littlest members of our centre will have dedicated, caring educators. Our aim is to build attachments with each child in a safe and nurturing environment. Our daily goal for each child is to help develop the whole child; socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and intellectually.

KINDY

Preparing our children for their formal schooling years, our Kindy program at EELC sets your child up for a successful transition to “big school.” With a focus on building resilience, caring for belongings and being a kind, caring person. Our program also provides preparation for school through a play-based curriculum. Having regular excursions that immerse our children into our community will be a large part of the Kindy program.

Room 1 – Nursery

Our Infant Room educators are qualified Early Childhood professionals with specialised training in caring for babies from as young as six weeks old. We understand the vital importance of secure, nurturing and responsive relationships during the earliest stages of development. Our team is committed to fostering strong, trusting connections with both children and their families. In our safe, welcoming environment, your baby will receive the attentive, personalised care they need to feel secure and thrive. We look forward to welcoming you and your child into our Exmouth ELC community

We work in partnership with you.

Our educators work in close partnership with you, sharing information about your child and actively listening to your insights, questions and concerns. We recognise that you are the expert when it comes to your child’s needs, preferences and personality. Building a foundation of trust and security is essential, and we honour the privilege of being part of your child’s life. We understand how important it is for your child to feel safe and connected with those in their world, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. Our team takes the time to truly get to know you and your child, nurturing a strong, respectful and collaborative relationship from the very beginning.

The early years are a precious and formative time in a child’s life. The moments spent playing, exploring and building connections lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning, discovery and joyful engagement with the world.

Routines are our best friend. Establishing a routine is beneficial for babies. They feel safe and secure when they know what’s coming up next and everything is predictable.

Room 2

This is a wonderful stage to nurture your child’s growing sense of independence. Their enthusiasm for role play reflects a vivid imagination, and each playful moment helps to strengthen fine motor skills and cognitive development. Through hands-on exploration and natural curiosity, children begin to lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Our Room 2 Program is thoughtfully designed to support and celebrate this exciting phase of growth. In a safe, loving and playful environment, we encourage children to explore the world around them – one small step at a time.

A place where little hands explore, big imaginations bloom, and every day is a new adventure!

Our dedicated educators are passionate about early childhood development and work closely with each child to meet their unique needs and interests. Our daily routines provide a comforting structure while allowing plenty of room for spontaneous, meaningful learning experiences.

We deeply value the partnership we share with families. As your child’s first teacher, your insights and involvement play a vital role in their learning journey. By working together, we can provide your toddler with a rich, nurturing start to their early education.

We’re thrilled to be part of this special time in your child’s life and look forward to creating a positive, enriching experience for both you and your little one.

Room 3

We’re excited to introduce Exmouth’s brand-new Pre-Kindy Program, thoughtfully designed to support children as they begin to take their first steps into more structured early learning. This program serves as a gentle bridge between our Room 2 environments and the kindergarten year, laying the foundation for a smooth and confident transition into more formal schooling.

Our Pre-Kindy provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, create, and grow at their own pace. The program focuses on developing early social skills, emotional regulation, language, and foundational concepts through play-based learning. Routines are introduced with flexibility, helping children build confidence, independence, and a love for learning in a supportive space.

Kindergarten

At Exmouth Early Learning Centre (Exmouth ELC) our Kindergarten program is designed to support children at the beginning of their learning journey and set them up for success as they transition to primary school. Through a rich, play-based curriculum, children are encouraged to explore, imagine, create and discover – developing a lifelong love of learning in a fun and nurturing environment.

Led by a fully qualified and experienced Early Childhood Teacher, who is supported by Diploma qualified educators, our Kindergarten program supports children’s development across all areas: social, emotional, cognitive and physical. As they grow in confidence and independence, they begin to engage more deeply with early literacy, numeracy, problem-solving and creative thinking – all through meaningful, age-appropriate activities.

Why would you choose Exmouth Early Learning Centre as your child’s Kindy program?

At Exmouth ELC, we offer a Kindergarten program that delivers a strong and engaging educational foundation, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework V2 – the nationally endorsed curriculum followed by schools throughout Australia. This ensures that your child acquires not only the essential knowledge and skills needed for formal schooling but also gains so much more.

What sets our program apart is its child-led approach. We design learning experiences based on each child’s interests, strengths and needs, creating a nurturing environment where curiosity thrives. Every aspect of our curriculum is intentionally crafted to provide meaningful opportunities for children to practice key skills and develop deep understandings across all areas of early learning.

Sensory Room

Our sensory room has been purposefully designed as a safe, calming, and controlled environment where children can explore and regulate their emotions, improve focus, and develop essential sensory and motor skills. This thoughtfully designed space promotes emotional well-being and helps prepare children for learning by offering them the tools they need to feel secure, supported, and understood.

Children can engage with a variety of sensory experiences—seeing, hearing, smelling, touching, and moving—to help them de-stress, enjoy quiet time, and stimulate their senses in a meaningful and therapeutic way.

Atelier

“An Atelier is more than just an art room—it’s a creative hub where children explore ideas, experiment with materials, and express themselves through a hundred languages of imagination.”

Our Atelier Room is a vibrant, purpose-filled space designed to inspire and support a rich tapestry of learning experiences. It exists not only to encourage creative expression, but also to foster inquiry-based learning, nurture deep thinking and problem-solving, and promote collaboration and communication among our young learners. Here, we celebrate the learning journey, valuing the process just as much—if not more—than the final product.

Within the Atelier, children will have the opportunity to explore an exciting array of artistic materials and sensory experiences, sparking curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Through open-ended art projects, collaborative group work, and guided explorations, they will develop essential skills including fine motor coordination, language and communication abilities, and a deepened understanding of colour, texture, pattern, and spatial awareness.

This dedicated space honours each child’s unique voice and expressive language, encouraging them to share their ideas, experiment boldly, and engage with the world around them in meaningful ways. The Atelier supports not only spontaneous creativity but also learning projects, provocations, and inquiries brought in from all age groups—becoming a central hub of exploration, wonder, and discovery.
